Linda Kay Leach nee Brand of Steelville, MO was born on Wednesday, July 18, 1956 in Rolla, MO to Harold Eugene “Gene” Brand and Thelma Pearl Shockley Brand.  She passed away at MO Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 17 days. 

Linda was raised in Steelville, MO and graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1974.  While in high school she sang in choir.  She married William Eliot Leach on June 25, 1981 at the Assembly of God Church in Steelville, MO and to this union two sons, Billy & Wesley, were born.  On May 27, 1996 she was able to carry the Olympic Torch in Festus, MO after winning an essay contest with KZNN.  She passed the torch to Russell who then passed it on to Ozzie Smith.  Linda had accepted the Lord early in life and attended Steelville Assembly of God.  She had worked at Intergram in Pacific, MO, Gencore in Cuba, MO, was a Cook 2 at Missouri Veteran’s Home in St. James, MO, a dietary cook at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville for over 15 years and lastly worked at Mobil On the Run Café since 2017.  Linda enjoyed gardening, canning and loved to go fishing.  She liked to do embroidery, talk on the phone to her sister, watch NCIS and listen to the gospel group, The Lester Family.  Most of all, Linda loved her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold "Gene" Brand and Thelma Shockley Brand; father-in-law William Leach and brother-in-law Adrian Evans.

She is survived by her sons Billy Leach (fiancée Liz Anderson) and Wesley Leach (girlfriend Ashley Leible) all of Steelville, MO; 2 grandsons, Cody Jones and Dylan Jones both of Steelville, MO; sister Phyllis Evans of Catawissa, MO; brother Earl (Pat) Brand of Steelville, MO; ex-husband Bill (Jane) Leach of Rolla, MO; mother-in-law Rose Leach of Buffalo, MO sister-in-law Beth (Gary) Colvin; brother-in-law Dewayne Evans of Steelville, MO; Chris Phelps, Dexter Ferry and Justin Tallent who she thought of as sons; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page.  Burial was at Pleasant Point Cemetery, Steelville, MO.  Memorials were suggested to the family to help with monument expenses.
