Robert Klimaytis Obituary

Robert “Robby” Klimaytis, 13, of Somers, beloved son of Angela Klimaytis and Gregory Klimaytis (Judith Hutton) and their son, Logan, flew into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Danbury on January 14, 2008. From the time Robby was born, he loved spending time with his family, and could always be found on the go. He especially loved gardening, playing outdoors, superheroes, Legos, classes in dance, music, and theatre, and, most of all, making friends. On November 5 th , 2012, the once lively, precocious, four-year-old Robby, whose greatest desire was to be an “Army guy,” suffered a global anoxic brain injury as a result of an accident during Hurricane Sandy clean-up. Robby miraculously survived numerous challenges, subsequently teaching others how to share love, the value of every human life, and saying more in a few speechless years than most say with words over many. He enjoyed worship with his church family at Christian Life Center and learning at Windermere School. He most loved his friends at both and friends new and old everywhere. He loved music, listening to good books, animals, and times with his very special and loving nurses. We are so thankful for all the support of friends, family, dedicated doctors, incredible home care nurses, teachers, and prayer warriors, as well as our pastors. In addition to his parents, Robby is survived by his devoted uncle and aunt, Grant and Christine McCulloch, and his grandmother, “Mammy” Judith McCulloch, all of Somers, grandparents, Patti and Ingo Zalik, of Redding, and grandfather, Victor Klimaytis, of Cumberland, Maine. He also leaves behind his uncle, Jordan “Uncle J” McCulloch of Somers, and uncle and aunt, Jesse and Kristen Klimaytis and their daughters, Sydney and Avery, of Cumberland, Maine, great grandmother, Jean Klaczak, of Somers, as well as many other beloved cousins and great aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his BFF and Papa, Robert McCulloch II, great grandfather, Lawrence Klaczak, and cousin, Nicholas Coleman. His family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Enfield, CT. A going home service will be celebrated for Robby at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Somers Center Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for all attendees. Donations in Robby’s Memory may be made to Judith McCulloch, 47 Blue Ridge Dr., Somers, CT 06071 or CSP Credit Union in Enfield, CT, noting “The Robby Klimaytis Sensory Garden” to be created for his classmates or to Christian Life Center, 1590 Sumner Ave., Springfield, MA. 01118 for a playground to be built in his memory.
