<p>Bobby J. Abernathy, 73, of Patterson, MO, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Jackson, MO, on June 29, 1947, to parents Wilson and Dorothy (Ridgeway) Abernathy.</p> <p>Bobby was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was of the Baptist faith. He married Rachel C. Albert on June 27, 1972, in Ketchikan, AK. Bobby loved to tinker around with things. He enjoyed fishing, watching CNN news, and his last years in Patterson area sitting on his deck.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife; brothers: Ronnie and Larry Abernathy; and sister Barb Magill.</p> <p>Bobby is survived by his children: Kevin Carroll and wife Tammy of Piedmont, Monica Carroll of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Antoinette Carroll, Samuel Carroll, Paul Chilton, Tyrone Carroll, Tabitha Carroll, Melissa Carroll, Candace Nolan; great-grandchildren: Melanah, Kobe and Kyle McComb, Nova Carroll, Charlie Chilton; great friend: John Engaseth; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Bobby will be greatly missed.</p> <p>A graveside service was held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 8, 2021, at Meador-Flatwoods Cemetery. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Samuel Carroll, Tyrone Carroll, Paul Chilton, Kobe McComb, Kyle McComb, and Kevin Carroll served as pallbearers.
