Millicent P. "Millie" (Ange) Maziarski Obituary

Millicent P. (Ange) Maziarski Woburn – Millicent "Millie" Maziarski, 74, surrounded by her daughters, passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, in Reading, MA, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was a loving and devoted mother of two daughters, Donna (Maziarski) Baracka of Groton, MA and Melissa (Maziarski) Palmer along with her husband, David Palmer, of Melrose, MA. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, who the world revolved around for her, Ashley, Emily, Meghan and Matthew Palmer, all of Melrose, and Cassidy Patrice Baracka of Groton. She is also survived by her sister, Elise Ange of New Jersey and her brother, Joel Ange and his wife Chris of Florida. Millie remained close friends with her ex-husband, Walter G. Maziarski, of Milford, MA, her sister-in-law, Marilyn (Maziarski) Cullen, a brother-in-law, Thomas Cullen, Sr., as well as three nephews and a niece from that marriage whom she loved dearly, Thomas Cullen, Jr., Christopher Cullen, Jeffrey Cullen and Kara Lynn (Cullen) Flood, along with each of their spouses and all their children, as well. She continued to be very well loved and actively involved with her in-law family, despite the divorce. She was a loving, honorary member of the family of her very recently departed companion of the last dozen years, Thomas G. Brown, Jr., where she leaves his two daughters, a son-in-law and three young grandchildren who will miss them both dearly. Millie was born March 16, 1946 in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Charles Ange, Shirley (Seligson) Ange Atlas, and the stepdaughter of the late Eugene Atlas. She graduated from Passaic High School in 1964. She worked outside of the home, full time, while raising her family and went to school in the evenings, eventually completing her B.S. in Accounting/Finance from Bentley College and her M.B.A from Nichols College. She continued on to study for her Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University. Her work was very important to her, working full time right up until her illness, and she spent the last 24 years as Manager, Finance/Administration at MilliporeSigma in Burlington, MA where she leaves a devoted work family and many friends behind. She relocated two years ago to Woburn to be closer to her work and her family. She had previously lived in North Grafton, Hudson and Marlboro, MA. She leaves numerous other friends from various aspects of her life, recent and long ago, most especially Susan Maffiolio from Westboro, MA and Joyce McGuire from Marlboro, MA who were like sisters to Millie. Outside of work, Millie enjoyed spending every weekend with her grandchildren, meeting with her companion for dinner and a movie, exercising at her home or just reading, as she was an avid reader. She loved Cape Cod and maintained a vacation home in West Yarmouth near her daughter Melissa’s family. She loved the beach especially sitting on the sand watching all the extended Palmer family children play while chatting with her friend Joan Palmer. When it was too cold for beach sitting, Millie would drive into the parking lot of the beach, open her window as much as she could depending on the weather and peacefully read a book overlooking the water. Millie was an inspirational woman who will be missed by all whose lives she has touched. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 2:00-5:00PM.
