<p>Nancy Rose Keesee Barr departed this life at 81 years of age on March 2, 2021, to enter larger life and return to her Lord. Born Jan. 29, 1940, in Norfolk, Va., Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas O. and Nancy Colvin Keesee.</p> <p>She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 17 years, David Robert Barr of Macon, Ga.; her beloved daughter Hannah C. Chan, husband Daniel S. Chan and granddaughters Sophia Rose and Laura Catherine Chan of Macon, Ga.; and her beloved son Bayard N. Crawley, his wife Ashley N. Crawley and grandson Travis Michael Crawley of Roswell, Ga. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Thomas E. and Martha L. Keesee of Newport News, Va., several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, including lifelong friend, Anne W. Hutcheson of Aylett, Va.</p> <p>She graduated from Newport News High School in 1957, Lynchburg College in 1960, The College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1969 and The Episcopal Theological Seminary in 2004. In 2015, she and Bob moved to Macon, where they settled in as devoted members of Ingleside Baptist Church.&nbsp; Throughout her lifetime, Nancy served as a high school classroom teacher, an at-home mother, a writer, a speaker for a Texas State Agency, hospital chaplain, pastoral care group facilitator and grief counselor. Nancy was also a loyal member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary Team, where she loved serving the community and believed deeply in the focus of the organization&rsquo;s purpose to &ldquo;do the most good&rdquo; in Macon and throughout central Georgia.</p> <p>A Scrabble and Bananagrams aficionado, she also loved traveling, gardening, baking, hosting and investing in others&rsquo; lives. While her contributions to people&rsquo;s lives were great, she was known best as a loyal friend. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she loved her Lord first and believed her life flowed outward from that strength. Nancy&rsquo;s main purpose in life was to make her faith known through the way that she loved others, glorifying Jesus&rsquo; name in all she said and did.&nbsp;</p> <p>A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 9, at 10:30 a.m. at The Chapel at Ingleside Baptist Church. The service will accommodate a maximum of 150 guests in observance of COVID-19 safety protocols. Social distancing will be practiced, and face masks are strongly encouraged. Nancy Rose Keesee Barr departed this life at 81 years of age on March 2, 2021, to enter larger life and return to her Lord. Born Jan. 29, 1940, in Norfolk, Va., Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas O. and Nancy Colvin Keesee.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 17 years, David Robert Barr of Macon, Ga.; her beloved daughter Hannah C. Chan, husband Daniel S.
