James Tallman
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">Jim passed away in the peacefulness of his home on February 20, 2021 at the age of 89 after a hard struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Deerwood, Minnesota, but moved to Olalla where he was raised from the age of 2. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1950.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">Jim was so proud of his association with Tom Morris Sr. at Purdy Realty, and their partnership which lasted 50+ years creating Talmo, Inc. which he was CEO until his illness. He actually began his real estate career at age 16 when he purchased his first 20 acre piece of property and had a neighbor co-sign for him to buy a chain saw. He went on to begin his career in logging, and property development, building commercial properties and countless residential home developments. His final project was Moses Pointe Golf Course at Moses Lake.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">In his spare time he enjoyed Restoring classic cars, Bowling, Hunting, Gardening, Playing Blackjack, holding his two dogs Suzy and Gidget, and most of all having a big piece of Prime Rib.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">Jim was a very generous man in many ways, including gifting of a 1924 Porter steam engine to the Elbe Mt Rainier Scenic Railroad that still runs from Elbe to Mineral.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">Jim and his wife Dian married on New Years Eve 1970. He always kidded her by saying that he needed a tax deduction. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary this New Years Eve 2020.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">Jim spent 8 years in the National Guard, was a lifetime member of the LeMay Museum and Classic Car Club and a long time member of the Gig Harbor Eagles.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">Jim is survived by his son Jim Jr. (Roxanne) and five daughters Lynette Tallman (Hilary), Laureen (Ed) Miller, Lisa (Jim) Sullivan, Lora (Stan) Macumber, Linda (Mike) Clough, a stepson Bob (Lynne) Pierce, and sister Reva Tallman plus numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">He was preceded in death by his first daughter Nadine, parents Adam and Lucille Tallman, a brother Richard Tallmand, sister Shirley Dinesen and step son Larry Pierce.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;">In Lieu of any flowers, please consider any contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospital, or the Gig Harbor Eagles.</span></span></p>Obituary
