Dennis J. Hromadko

Dennis Joseph Hromadko, 80, of Medford, died Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He was born September 11, 1940 in Minneapolis the son of Joseph and Ardetta (Olson) Hromadko. Dennis graduated from Hopkins High School in 1958. He served in the US Navy from 1958-1963 and then in the reserves until 1965. He returned to Minnesota and began working for Xerox. On May 13, 1967 Dennis married DoAnn Harms at St. John's Lutheran Church in Young America. In 1971, while working for Xerox, he moved his family to Medford. He then became part owner of Owatonna Sport & Cyclery followed by carpentry work and over 10 years at OTC. Following his career at OTC, he attended Rochester Community & Technical College where he received his Building, Utility and Maintenance Degree in 1993. He then took a position as Facilities Manager with D'Amico & Sons retiring in 2007. Dennis was a man of strong faith. He was member, elder and Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford. Over the years he was a member of MN Pheasants, Owatonna Gun Club, The 20 Rifle & Pistol Club and served on the Medford City Council. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, DoAnn Hromadko of Medford; sons, Michael (and Brittany) Hromadko of Mankato, David (and Heather) Hromadko of Rogers; daughter, Julie (and Mark) Johnson of Owatonna; grandchildren, Brandon Hromadko, Krista Hromadko, Grace Hromadko, Sophia Hromadko, Hunter Hromadko, Jacob Johnson, Alyvia Johnson, Carter Johnson; brothers, Gordon Hromadko of Hopkins, Glenn (and Karen) Hromadko of Manteca, CA; sister, Nancy Basant of Annandale and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, JoAnn Mlnarik. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford on Friday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford with The Reverend Mark Biebighauser officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Deerfield Township with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
