Long time Alaska resident William (Shelby) Michels, 38, died February 24, 2021, while staying at Matsu Regional Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at Legacy Funeral Homes, Bragaw Chapel at 1707 S. Bragaw Street, Anchorage at 3:00pm, March 1, 2021. Shelby was born August 7, 1982 in Columbus, OH, to Harold (Bud) and Carla Michels. Shelby moved to Alaska with his family as a young child. He resided in Anchorage and Palmer most of his life. He was a long time auto body repair man, including restoration of older vehicles. Shelby enjoyed hunting and camping with his father growing up. He is survived by his children, Breyer, Waylon, Weston and Holley, ex-wife Kristi, his mother Carla of Alaska, his sisters and brother-in-laws Kim and Rich Stokes of Texas; Cristy and Gary Conn of Texas; and Maggie Robichaud of Alaska, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Bud. Arrangments have been entrusted to Legacy Funeral Homes, Bragraw Chapel.
