Charlotte "Jane" Nichols Obituary

Charlotte "Jane" Nichols, 85, of Hermann, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at StoneBridge Hermann.
 
Charlotte was born in Berkeley, California on April 8, 1935, the daughter of the late Thomas Edward & Charlotte Gertrude (Thaxter) Furze.
 
She was the widow of James (Jim) Albert Nichols.  They were united in marriage on July 25, 1960, in the state of Nevada.  Jim preceded her in death on December 31, 1998.
 
Jane has held various jobs over the years.  When she was younger she worked as a CNA. She also worked for Malenkrat Inc. in New Haven for several years, she owned and operated a gas station and restaurant along with her husband and she did baby sitting for her grandkids. 
 
Jane loved playing bingo, all things chocolate, watching Cardinal Baseball, going bowling with her husband and spending time with her family and grandkids. 
 
Jane is survived by four sons, Donald Nichols, of Swiss, Missouri; Ronald Knight, of Tomball, Texas; David Knight & wife Mary, of Tomball, Texas; and Simeon Scovel & wife Laura, of Ontario, California; a step daughter, Judy Branch, of Gainsville, Texas; a step son, James "Buster" Nichols, of St. Louis, Missouri;  by 16 grandchildren, Michael Knight; Robert (Nina), Christopher (Ashley), and Patrick (Kristen) Knight; Melyssa, Nathan (Sarah), Corbin and Jordon Brown; David Scovel; Crystal (Adam) George; Jessica (Alan) Gloe; Jamie (special friend Todd Adams) Nichols; Michelle and Ryan Rader; Michelle (Chad) Weiser, Mike (Valerie) Pohlmann; 36 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Thomas Furze & wife Sheila, of California; Gordon Furze & wife Margaret, of Hawaii; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Nichols of New Haven, Missouri. 
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Rex Dell Knight, her second husband James Albert Nichols, two daughters, Susan Rader and Marion Gerloff, a sister Florence Scovel, three sister-in-laws, Georgia, Letha and Dixie, and three brother-in-laws, Richard, Ben and William. 
 
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to families choice. Arrangement were under the direction of Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
