After graduating from Fitchburg High School, Mark was drafted into the Army. He served in Vietnam as a Ranger with the 101st Airborne Division. He received many medals including a Silver star and three Bronze stars and was honorably discharged in 1972. After returning to the states, he met Linda, his wife to be. After a whirlwind courtship, they married on August 18, 1973 and made their home in Revere, MA. In 1975 they moved to Rindge and bought the oldest house in town, built in 1750. Before his health declined, he was a cabinet maker with New England Wood Designs. Although he wasn’t a member of any organization at the time of his death, he was a past member of the New England Chapter of the 101st Airborne Association, and the Jaffrey VFW Post 5613. He enjoyed painting, music, deep-sea fishing and spending time with his children. He is survived by his two beloved children, Anthony Bussiere of Los Angeles and Angela Bussiere of Rindge. He also survived by his wife Linda (Salvato). They would have been married 48 years this August. Due to the pandemic, there will be no calling hours. Mrs. Bussiere hopes to have a brief service at the Cathedral of the Pines at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mark’s name to the Jaffrey VFW Post 5613, 12 Hathorn Rd., Jaffrey, NH 03452.
