<p>Roy Celdon Davis, 60, of Brookings, OR, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, OR.<br /> <br /> Roy was born December 23, 1960, to John Davis and Nelda Williams (Francis) in Elizabeth City, NC. He grew up in Manteo, NC, moved to Phoenix, AZ, then back to Manteo his senior year of high school. After graduating from Manteo High School in 1979, he lived with his grandparents and worked as a deckhand on fishing boats. He also worked on a road paving crew after moving to northern Arizona. Roy eventually moved to Oregon and was a resident of Brookings for almost 30 years. He was a fishing captain, deckhand, carpenter, shipwright, marine insurance surveyor, and port commissioner. He also served as chairman for the Brookings Board of Port Commissioners. His hobbies included cooking, riding motorcycles, wood crafting, fishing, and boat building.<br /> <br /> Roy is survived by his mother, Nelda Williams; sons, Chase Davis, Kit Nagy, and Chance Adams; sister, Grace Summerhays; brother in law, Chris Summerhays; and nephew, Matthew Summerhays. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Kit Williams Jr.<br /> <br /> Memorial service to be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, 1:00PM, at the Port of Brookings. Funeral arrangements handled by Stephens Family Chapel of Grants Pass.</p>
