NEW BEDFORD-Timothy J. Duarte, Sr., 49, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 12, 2021. He was the husband of Isabel M. (Silva) Duarte of New Bedford and son of Beverly Ann (Duarte) Graves of Lewiston, ME and the late Thomas Hughes. Born in New Bedford, he was a lifelong resident and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Timothy was employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed knitting, driving around the beaches, big trucks, and was a C.B. radio operator. His family includes his wife; 4 sons, Ryan of Michigan, Timothy F. Duarte, Timothy J. Duarte and his wife, Joelene Brogden and Richard C. Duarte, all of New Bedford; 2 daughters, LoriAnn Duarte and her fiancé, Christopher Carcieri of Fall River and Carolyn Braley and her husband, Walter Braley, Jr. of New Bedford; 1 brother, Troy Duarte and his wife, Jane Roberts of Lewiston, ME; 3 sisters, Edwina Duarte and Crystal Graves, both of Lewiston, ME and Lisa Wilkinson of New Bedford; several grandchildren including Alex James, Walter, Isaac and Gabriella; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Visiting hours Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a service to be conducted during visitation. Cremation to follow.
