Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL. Lenora was born September 2, 1929, in Adams County, IL to Ralph F. and Ethel E. (Priepot) Parker. She was married to Donald “Don” C. Peter on January 7, 1950 in Hamilton, IL and they recently celebrated 71 years of marriage. Don survives. In addition to her husband, other survivors include her children, Patricia "Trish" A. Andrews (Buddy) of Fort Worth, TX and Mark S. Peter (Jill) of Mendon, IL; five grandchildren, Tori N. Nichols, Tad C. Peter (fiancée Alason Vecchie), Wesley M. Peter (Leslie), Karl Peter (Heather), and Blake Andrews; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee Nichols, Taylor Nichols, Maisie Peter, Scarlett Peter, Theo Peter, Violet Peter, Harper Andrews, and Dylan Andrews; one daughter-in-law, Pam Peter of FL; and two sisters-in-law, Delores Daugherty and Barb Peter. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kirk Peter; two grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Peter; a brother, Rollie E. Parker (Mary); a sister, Mildred Inman (Roger); and two brothers-in-law, Bill Daugherty and Jim Peter. Professionally, Lenora was a well-respected real estate broker throughout the area for 30 years. She worked at Galen Parrack Realtors, was owner and operator of Landmark Real Estate, and finished her career with Coldwell Banker-Mays Real Estate. Lenora loved golfing and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed sports, whether that was following the St. Louis Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks or traveling to Florida for spring training baseball games. More than anything though, she especially enjoyed following her grandchildren's' and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Lenora was involved in Altrusa, was a member of Quincy Association of Realtors, member of local chapter PEO, 4-H Club Leader, and was the first woman president and original board member of North Adams Home. Most of all, Lenora and Don lived out their Christian values and instilled those in their children and entire family. Faith and family were the most important things to Lenora. Lenora was always very active in her church, as a member of the choir and a Sunday School Teacher at Lima Federated Church and later at Mendon Congregational Church. She most recently attended Faith Presbyterian Church, where she and Don have been active members for many years. The family would like to send a special thank you to home care workers Debbie and Jamie. They would also like to thank the Blessing Skilled Nursing Unit and the staff of Golden Good Shepherd Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, The Well House, or St. Jude Research Hospital.
