James E Wilson

Jim was born to Dan and Rose Wilson October 8, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. He lived most of his life in the Pacific Northwest and enjoyed his time in Germany with the Army. He worked as a Machinist, long haul truck driver and retired as a QA Inspector for Sulzer Pumps in 2013. Music was an important part of Jim’s life, playing drums in the United States Army and also enjoyed performing with several bands as a drummer for many years. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Ray and leaves behind his sister, Judy Detert and her husband Les Detert from Arizona. Jim enjoyed time spent with his Daughter, Julie Tremblay and her husband Myron Tremblay. He was proud of his four grandchildren Jill, Mitchell, Matthew and Mason and he had one great grandchild, Caroline. Jim enjoyed his retirement years in McMinnville, Oregon with his companion, Suzie Fell. They enjoyed their time together playing in a ukulele group, The Maculeles, entertaining residents of local assisted living facilities and local events. Besides learning the ukulele, he took banjo lessons and taught himself to play guitar. His hobby was repairing old banjos and guitars. There will be a graveside service for Jim with military honors at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, Wednesday, February 24th at 1:30pm.
