Obituary
Albert Jasper Stancil, 86, of Roxboro, died Friday, February 19, 2021. Born in Johnston Co., NC and raised in Goldsboro, Mr. Stancil was the son of the late William Jasper and Iva Mae Crawford Stancil. Mr. Stancil served in the National Guard and was an avid bowler. He retired as a master mechanic after 30 years with DuPont in Kinston and later after over 9 years with the State of North Carolina. He was a perfectionist who loved to tinker with all types of engines and anything mechanical, from automobiles to lawn mowers and air conditioners to any household appliances. Mr. Stancil was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Debra Powell. Mr. Stancil is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Hancock Stancil; two children, Kimberly S. James (Greg), of Chocowinity and Michael A. Stancil (Melissa), of Grifton; one step-son, Ricky Fletcher (Mary Anne), of Hillsborough; three grandchildren, Brittany Louise S. Castro, Michael A. Stancil, Jr. and Jessica Stancil Jordan; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Maverick Castro, Marley Castro and Jaxson Jordan. Graveside services will be held 11AM Friday, February 26, 2021, at Oak Grove Memorial Garden by the Dr. M. David Chambers. Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, P.O.
