Shirley A. Mitchell
Shirley A. Mitchell passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021, at her home in Jaffrey with her family by her side after a period of failing health She was born on October 2, 1942 in Weymouth, Mass, the daughter of James and Ethel (Meade) Counihan. Shirley was a graduate of Weymouth High School and had attended Burdett College. She previously lived in Reston, VA, Ellington, CT and Londonderry, NH and enjoyed working for many years at the Gordon & Powers Insurance Co. before retiring to the shadows of Mt. Monadnock, where she enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts and visiting with friends and family. Her husband, Robert J. Mitchell predeceased Shirley on May 2, 2016. She is survived by her son, James Robert and his wife, Jacqueline and their daughter, Kylie of Hancock as well as by many friends. There will be no public services at this time. Shirley will be celebrated at a private gathering of family and friends. I am so very sorry to hear of Shirley's. I knew her for a short time. Met her at the Serendipity shop in PBRO. She was such a lovely lady and person. I thought of her many times of late. May she RIP.
