Mary Marie Scales Gump, 95, of Shinnston passed away at Crestview Manor, Jane Lew, WV, on February 13, 2021. She was born on November 30, 1925 to the late Sam Scales and Rose Minard Scales. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Marie Gump of Shinnston WV; grandson, Justin E. Rose and his wife Stephanie of Wilmington, NC; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Erin Rose; grandson, Nathaniel M. Rose of Shinnston, WV; sisters, Lucy Harbert and Katie Romeo both of Ravenswood, WV, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arnie E. Gump; son, Gary Lynn Gump; granddaughter, Erin Saza Rose; great-grandson, Blake Edward Rose; sisters, Betty Lopez, Rose Rotunda, Sara Campbell and Flora Scales. Mary worked at Sears Departmart Store for many years and was a member of St.Ann's Catholic church, The American Legion Post 31 Auxiliary, Senior Citizens and Nutrition Center of Shinnston. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, baking and collecting antiques. Friends and family will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on February 19, 2021 for 10:00AM to 1:00 PM with a funeral service at Harmer Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Father Chris Turner officiating.
