<p>Bonita (Bonnie) Marianne Shimmin (Burke) Age 78 of Duluth passed away on Friday February 12,2021.</p> <p>She was born on July 19,1942 to Joseph and Lyna Burke.&nbsp; She graduated from Duluth Central High School.&nbsp; Earned her B.S degree from The University of MN Duluth, and spent several years as a counselor for the Center of Alcohol and Drug Treatment and the Northeast Regional Corrections Center.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gerald and former spouse, father of her children Larry Shimmin.&nbsp;</p> <p>She is survived by Her children:&nbsp; Kevin (Sheri) Shimmin, Kyle (JodiBelle) Shimmin, and Kory (Teri) Shimmin.&nbsp; Grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon (Kim), Trevor (Sara), Brittany (Robert) Isabelle, Ben and Austin.&nbsp; 3 great grandchildren and one due in July 2021.&nbsp;</p> <p>Siblings:&nbsp; Jolynn Spaulding, Sheila Jackson and Carol (Richard Jacobs) Meldahl and their families, many extended family members and longtime friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>A special thank you to all the people that have helped Bonnie stay in her own home over the years.</p> <p>Private family services to be held</p> <p>Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 218-727-3555, please visit www.dfhduluth.com to sign the online guestbook.</p>
