Edward Cielinski
With great sadness the family of Edward Cielinski announces his passing on February 12, 2021 at Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ. Ed was born August 30, 1935 in Pottsville PA to Edward and Alma (Zula) Cielinski. He grew up in Minersville where at a dance he met his future wife Dolores Maley. Their Polka skills were epic and in 1957 they became not only dance partners but partners for life. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Garwood NJ where they raised their family. After a long career at Economic Laboratories, Ed’s strong work ethic kept him busy with a second career at Global Windows as well as many volunteer roles. A devout Catholic, he was an active parishioner at St Anne’s Church where he was a regular usher at 5:30 Saturday mass. He was also active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 75, The Garwood Knights of Columbus and the Garwood Seniors. Ed will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who could never say no to helping out family and friends. He loved Atlantic City, jigsaw puzzles and a nice cold beer. His Sunday dinners were a weekly ritual and while he loved to cook for his family, he never forgot his four legged friends and always had a special treat in hand to spoil them. Ed was pre-deceased by his wife of 63 years Dolores (2020) and his grandson David. He is survived by his brother James (Pam), sister-in-law Ann Marie, his daughter Donna Provenzano (Stephen), grandchildren Brianna, Alyssa and Cara, son David (Jackie), grandchildren Devin, Matthew, April and Erin, daughter Judy and many loving nieces and nephews. We are quite sure in a small corner of heaven there is a polka playing and Ed & Dolores are dancing. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Memorial Funeral Home in Fanwood, N.J., on Sunday, February 21st, from 2 to 4pm. The funeral mass will be held at the Church of Saint Anne in Garwood on Monday, February 22nd at 10am followed by entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward’s name to the Church of Saint Anne in Garwood or the charity of your choice.August 30, 1935 - February 12, 202108/30/193502/12/2021

I was so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I will miss his smiling face as he did his ushering duties at St. Anne's, and the many times he asked if we wanted to bring up the gifts. R.I.P. Ed. Now you and Delores can be together for all eternity. So sorry to Donna, Davi... Continue Reading
