Louella “Lou” M. Hammond
<p>Louella “Lou” M. Hammond, 81 of Ashland passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital.</p> <p>She was born Oct. 21, 1939 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Lula Wilkins Bowsher.</p> <p>She married Harry Hammond, Jr. on June 7, 1959 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2005. Also, preceded in death by two grandsons, J.T. Larson and LeRoy Robinson, Jr; and brother, Charles Henry.</p> <p>Lou retired from Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Springfield. She was a foster parent starting in 1965. She was a longtime camper at Evening Star Campgrounds. </p> <p>Surviving are one son, Ron (Anna) Hammond; two daughters, Lori Hammond and Lisa (Lee) Robinson; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (DeeDee), Bob (Joyce) and Sam (Ann) Bowsher; several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Private family services will be held at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.</p> <p>Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.</p>October 21, 1939 - February 12, 202110/21/193902/12/2021
