<p> </p> <p><br /> GARY JAMES SMITH<br /> July 20, 1942 – February 12, 2021<br /> <br /> Gary was one of four children born to Leon and Marion Smith. Gary was born and went to school in Cortland. Gary attended the local schools and following graduation from high school went into the workforce. Gary was instructed in the Christian faith and was baptized and confirmed into Christian faith at Hope Lutheran Church in 1987.<br /> <br /> During his life Gary worked as a truck driver and later for Smith Corona Typewriters, Brewer Titchener, Alcoa Aluminum and Rooms to Go.<br /> <br /> Gary was blessed from his previous marriages with four children.<br /> <br /> Gary met Deborah as they both were employed at Alcoa and they were married at Hope Lutheran on June 23, 1988.<br /> <br /> Gary was a faithful child of God and was called home to his heavenly rest with our Lord on February 12, 2021 following a battle with cancer. Gary is sorely missed by:<br /> <br /> His wife: Deborah<br /> His Children and their spouses: Lorraine, Richard (Renee), Franklin and Matthew (Kim);<br /> His Step Children and their spouses: David Eberhard (Christie), Janet Thomas, Christie Kaleda, Michael Eberhard (Nikki);<br /> His 12 grandchildren;<br /> His 19 Great grandchildren;<br /> His many friends and;<br /> His brothers and sisters in Christ at Hope Lutheran Church.</p> <p> </p>July 20, 1942 - February 12, 202107/20/194202/12/2021
