Richard E. Kimpel

Richard E. Kimpel, age 59, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, February 12, 2021, at his residence. He was born on March 13, 1961, in Fond du Lac, the son of Harold R. and Natalie I. (Miller) Kimpel. Richard served in the United States Army and the United States Navy. He grew up on a farm in Markesan where he enjoyed hunting with his brothers and their dad and also working on cars together. On April 18, 2015, he married Kim Ebert at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in (Rogersville) Rosendale. Richard worked at Halquist Stone. He was a member of St. Stephens Church. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed darts and bowling. Most of all Richard loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Kim of Fond du Lac; his children, Christine Kimpel, Stephanie (Alan) Ball, Clayton (Krystina) Ebert, Kyle Schneider, Christian Woznick, and Leita Woznick all of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren, Jack, Benjamin, and Jasper; his siblings, Franklin Raymond Kimpel of Fond du Lac, Lori (Joe) Leahy and family of Ripon, Jeffrey (Tracy) Kimpel and family of Waupun, Lyle (Sandra) Kimpel and family of Florida, Troy Kimpel and family of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Deb Koch of Fond du Lac; brother-in-law, Ricky Ebert of New Mexico; godmother, Marge Frank of Lomira; his first wife, Brenda Lee (Stahmann) Kimpel of Fond du Lac; he was the godfather of Rebecah Kibler of Fond du Lac and Jaclyn Manthei of Ripon; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2021, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, N5680 Towne Rd, Rosendale, WI, 54974. A memorial service will follow the visitation at the church. Cremation has taken place. In honor of Richard, you are encouraging to wear Chiefs attire, or any shade of blue.
