Marcia L. Alden, RN, 73, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2021. She was born in Massillon on September 3, 1947 to Donald and Mary (Oser) Burger. She graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1965 and The Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1968. Marcia worked thirty-eight years at Doctors Hospital and then retired from Stark Medical Specialties. She was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Sorority and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, wine night and traveling to see her children and grandchildren. Marcia is survived by her husband, Carl “Bud” Alden, whom she married on March 29, 1969; children, Michelle Mikulec and Jeff Alden; grandchildren, Eric, Brooke, Donald and Kalun; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Kayden and Peighton; sister, Becky (Michael) Kolp; sister-in-law Pat (Chuck) Barton; and numerous niece and nephews Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 5pm-7pm with a funeral service to be held at 7pm. Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating, Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
