Loretta Catherine Bouse

Loretta Catherine Bouse, 79, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at her home in Emporia. She was born January 17, 1942 in Iola, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Joyce Mahoney Ulses. Loretta grew up in Westphalia, Kansas and graduated from Westphalia High School with the Class of 1960. She married the love of her life, Roy Harlan Bouse on November 12, 1966 in Westphalia. They began their lives together on the Bouse family farm north east of Burlington. After seven years Loretta and Roy moved to Neosho Rapids, Kansas where they spent 14 years before moving to their current home. They have spent the past 26 years of their 53 year marriage in Emporia. Loretta was a devoted wife, mother and grand mother. She and Roy attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years until her recent decline in health would not allow her to attend. Loretta will live on in the hearts and memories of her devoted husband, Roy of their home in Emporia; two daughters, Cindy Landis and her husband Ben of Rural Reading and Bertha Scoville of Cottonwood Falls; a brother, Ervin Ulses of Topeka; five grandchildren, Amber Landis, LeAnn Landis, Robin Landis, Belinda Scoville and Brandon Scoville. Loretta was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Ulses and a stillborn granddaughter, Autumn Marie Landis. Cremation is planned with no services being scheduled at this time.
