Charles Ed Lemons Jr.

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Charles Lemons Jr., age 56, went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.&nbsp; He was born to the late Charles Ed and Frankie Lee Lemons on June 5, 1964 in Covington, Tennessee. Charles was the fourth of seven children born to that union.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Charles was a really good person. He was known as the family cook because he loved to Bar be Que.&nbsp; He was also the life of the party and loved to dance. Charles loved his family, his momma, his kids and his grandkids.&nbsp; He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and in his earlier years was a great basketball player.&nbsp; Most of all, Charles loved to make people laugh.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Frankie Lee, his long-time companion of over 17 years Debra Durham, his children Alicia Evans of Goshen and Dominique Malone of Elkhart, and Debra&rsquo;s children LaCranston (LaLa), Sugar, Coretta, Latifah and Sharita, all of South Bend.&nbsp; Also surviving are his siblings Lula (James), Diane, Kevin (Angela) and Virginia (Robbie), all of Elkhart, a host of grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his father Charles Ed Sr., his first wife Annette Lemons, his sister Shirley, baby sister Flora Diane and his nephew Reshawn Thomas.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 1:00 pm funeral service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Charles was employed most recently with LEER Truck Caps. For several years, he worked for other local factories before beginning to have issues with his health.&nbsp; He attended Elkhart Public Schools and was a member of Pilgrim Rest MB Church under the leadership of Sam I.
