Shelby Jean Neely

Shelby Jean Byrd Neely, age 78 of Ronda, passed away December 11, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare in Elkin. Shelby was born in Virginia on August 22, 1937 to the late Harvey Eugene Byrd and Willie Blackburn Byrd. In addition to her parent's she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Glenn Neely, a sister, Kathleen Adams, and a brother, Larry Lee Byrd. She is survived by her children; Patricia N. Long and husband Teddy, Glenna N. Holsclaw, Howie Neely and wife Sherry, Mark Richard Neely, Carol N. Cleary and husband Barry, Regan N. O'Brien, brothers, Roy Q. Byrd and wife Brenda, Ezra Mack Byrd and wife Pansy , 12- grandchildren, 13- great- grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews, special friend, Jerry Crouse, also special pet, Ozzie, Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. December 15, 2015 at Little Elkin Baptist Church, by Rev. Steve Fowler, and Rev. Wayne Adams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Neely family will receive friends, Monday evening, December 14, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
