PITTSFIELD-Richard A. Curtis, 62, died on February 7, 2021, at his home in Pittsfield. Rick was born on July 30, 1958, in Pittsfield, Maine, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Curtis Sr. He had worked in retail sales at both the Family Dollar and Trailside Discount. In the past, he volunteered on the Pittsfield Fire Department and also served as an animal control officer. He had also worked for Penobscot county as a correctional officer. Rick was a jokester and full of life. He never went anywhere without his coffee and cigarettes. He liked fishing, 4 wheeling, and working with dump trucks and excavators. He enjoyed spending time with his nephew, J.J., at Our Garage in Detroit. He is survived by his children: Richard Bubar and companion Holly O’Reilly of Hartland, Josh Smith of Greenbush, Rachael Boyd and companion Eddie Carmichael Jr of Hartland, and Elizabeth Martin and companion Arlo McDougal of Corinna; granddaughters, Nicole Bubar and Madison Bubar; grandsons, Caleb McDougal and Kyle Bubar; siblings: John Curtis Jr., Peter Curtis and wife Ramona, Dianne Roy and husband Frank, Sue Armstrong and husband Charles, Laurie Bryson, Kathy Hood and husband Ned, Chuck Curtis and wife Laurie, and Bonnie Brown; half brother, Pat Bush and wife Cheryl; half sister, Barbara St. Jean and husband Paul; close friend, Richard Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.
