Lorna Hamm Nelson
Lorna Hamm Nelson, age 89, passed away peacefully February 5, 2021 in Pineville, LA. Lorna was born at home in Winnfield, LA on July 14, 1931 to Clint and Annie Hamm. She was a graduate of Bolton High School in 1948 and went on to work as a secretary for the State of Louisiana, an attorney, a stock broker, and finally for Petron, but her most pride filled accomplishment was that of a loving mother and home maker. In 1950, Lorna met the absolute love of her life, Linnie Nelson. Although neither one had a dime to their name, they married in 1951 and were the devoted parents to four children. Lorna was the family caretaker and her home was the destination for all get- togethers. She was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends, laughing, telling stories and making precious memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Annie Hamm, her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Linnie, sisters Lillian Damico and Hazel “Sis” Crippen, and brothers Kelly “Sonny” Hamm and Bob Hamm. She is survived by her four children: Brian Nelson and wife Leeza, Lisa Bonfanti and husband Jason, Steve Nelson, and Rusty Nelson. She is also survived by her six loving grandchildren: Justin Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson, Clayton Nelson, Annie Newton, Mary Kate Nelson, and Erin Bonfanti, as well as three precious great grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 9th, at noon at Hixson Brothers in Pineville with Alanna Sistrunk officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior from 10-12.
