Mona Joan Beatty Barns Iiames, 86, of Lima (formerly of Waynesfield) passed away suddenly Thursday, February 4, 2021, at home. Joan was born in Ridgeway, Ohio on March 13, 1934 to Joseph and Lola Predmore Beatty who preceded her in death. On October 19, 1952 Joan married James Junior Barns. They were married 55 years until his death in March 2008. Joan met (online) and married Warren William "Bill" Iiames on October 10, 2018. He survives in Lima. Joan is survived by three daughters, Melinda (Ron) Crossmon of Van Buren, Ohio, Charlotte (Mike) Gallimore of Corryton, TN, and Brenda (Brad) Harless of Waynesfield, Ohio. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Anita (Matt) Martens, Jason (Beth) Crossmon, Alena (Phillip) Pagal, Allison (Ben) Posey, Joshua (Erin) Gallimore, Larissa (John) Keener, Robert (Britani) Harless, and Bryan (Kelli) Harless. Joan also leaves 17 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Bernard (Bun) Beatty and Clyde Beatty. Joan joined the Mt. Zion UMC in 2017 but attended Fletcher Chapel and Roundhead UMC throughout her lifetime. She also belonged to Roundhead and Lawrence Valley Granges holding the office of Lecture in both granges for Joan helped form an Extension Homemaker Club and also The Red Hat Raspberries Club. She had worked at Indian Lake Manor, FIsher Cheese Plant, and Lost Creek Care Center. Pastor Amber Rex will begin funeral services at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 8, 2021 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview, with visitation from noon – 2 pm. Burial is in Roundhead Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name to American Cancer Society. Services are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home.
