<p>Therese &ldquo;Terry&rdquo; A. Fontenault (LaFay) 93, passed away on February 1, 2021 in Mohegan, RI. She was born in Woonsocket and moved to Burrillville at the age of 5. She was the daughter of the late Emile and Helen LaFay of Mohegan. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>She was the devoted wife of Raymond Fontenault with whom she shared 73 wonderful years.</p> <p>Besides her husband, she leaves six wonderful children, Dennis Fontenault and his wife Sandra of N. Kingstown, Suzanne Talmadge of Harrisville, Robert and His wife Kathleen of Mohegan, Richard and his wife Carol of Texas, David and his wife Gwen of North Conway, New Hampshire and&nbsp;John and his wife Lori of Florida.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Rose Bernard, Yvette Ramsey and Emile LaFay, Jr.</p> <p>Terry was a homemaker and a baker who enjoyed baking cakes for family and friends, including wedding cakes.</p> <p>She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan&nbsp;and spent many hours watching the games.&nbsp; Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, reading, doing crafts and playing cards with friends.</p> <p>She was a member and past president of&nbsp;Berard Desjarlais Women&#39;s Auxiliary Post of the American Legion. She enjoyed swimming at the &ldquo;Y&rdquo; and doing water exercises. &nbsp;</p> <p>She was a member of the &ldquo;Choraleers,&rdquo; a singing group. Terry was a volunteer for many years and in charge of the gift shop at St. Antoine Residence.</p> <p>She attended Hills College and was later employed at the former McCarthy&rsquo;s store in their clerical department.</p> <p>She loved to spend time with her 13 wonderful grandchildren of 9 boys and 4 girls. Heidi Banville, Stephanie Talmadge, Nicole Polacek, Kari Fontenault, Bradley, Adam, Matthew, Jeremey, Andrew, Steven, Jimmy, Eric and Jeffrey Fontenault.&nbsp;</p> <p>She also leaves her 12 cherished great-grandchildren,&nbsp;Evan and Macey Polacek, Natalie Banville, Sophie, Max, Olivia, Amos, Claire, Nora, Zoe, Ellie-Jane, and Dylan Fontenault.</p> <p>Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home in North Smithfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held April 5th at 11:00 AM&nbsp;at St. Theresa&rsquo;s Church in Nasonville, Burial will&nbsp;follow&nbsp;in the Parish Cemetery.&nbsp;Due to the Covid-19 Virus, social distancing will be applied during services.</p> <p>&nbsp;In Lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude&rsquo;s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN&nbsp;38105 will be greatly appreciated.</p>

Therese “Terry” A. Fontenault (LaFay) 93, passed away on February 1, 2021 in Mohegan, RI. She was born in Woonsocket and moved to Burrillville at the age of 5. She was the daughter of the late Emile and Helen LaFay of Mohegan.                                                                                          

She was the devoted wife of Raymond Fontenault with whom she shared 73 wonderful years.

Besides her husband, she leaves six wonderful children, Dennis Fontenault and his wife Sandra of N. Kingstown, Suzanne Talmadge of Harrisville, Robert and His wife Kathleen of Mohegan, Richard and his wife Carol of Texas, David and his wife Gwen of North Conway, New Hampshire and John and his wife Lori of Florida.

She also leaves her 12 cherished great-grandchildren, Evan and Macey Polacek, Natalie Banville, Sophie, Max, Olivia, Amos, Claire, Nora, Zoe, Ellie-Jane, and Dylan Fontenault.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home in North Smithfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held April 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa’s Church in Nasonville, Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 Virus, social distancing will be applied during services.
