Tommy Monroe Devitt

Tommy Devitt, age 80, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home. He was born Wednesday, February 14, 1934 to the late Monroe and Lucetta "Bobbi" Benson Devitt in Cove, Arkansas. Tommy was a foreman at U.S. Motors for 10 years and managed the Elks Lodge for many years before retiring. He loved playing golf, shooting pool and snooker. But he was happiest when he was on the golf course. He was a loving father, uncle and a true friend. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Bobbi Devitt and three brothers, Jimmy Hunt, Buddy Hunt and Arthur Devitt. He is survived by one son and daughter in law, James and Janis Devitt of Wellington, New Zealand, a daughter, Karla Smith Webber of Fort Smith; an honorary granddaughter, Brandy Thatcher of Fort Smith; one step son, Mitch Smith of Mena; two sisters, Mary Byrd of California and Benny Steele of De Queen; a special sister in law, Mary Ann Hunt of Hot Springs; two nephews David and Jimmy and a niece Pam; and special friends Sallye Beam and Nancy Ward and a host of other relatives and friends..
