Norma Frances Swallow (High River)

Norma Frances Swallow peacefully passed away in her sleep in the High River Hospital on January 30, 2021 at the age of 91. Norma was born on January 4th, 1930 near Hyde, Saskatchewan to Donald and Caroline McLeod. Norma is predeceased by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Fred, and her son-in-law Doug Edwards. She is survived by her daughter Donna Edwards, and two sons Norman (Karen) and Jamie (Susan). Norma is also survived by six grandchildren (Michele, Shawna (Eugene), Mathew (Hiroko), Travis (Tricia), Ashley (Abraham) and Joshua) and fourteen great-grandchildren (Drayden, Ethan, Declan, Josey, Will, Alec, Lisa, Rylan, Mason, Kara, Samuel, Benjamin, Luke and Abigail.) Besides love for her family and many hours spent camping and fishing, Norma had a great love for music and was a gifted piano player. She enjoyed many years in the High River United Church Choir with her husband, Fred and spent hours at the piano, playing from memory. Norma was especially fond of the various musical groups in which she played at the Medicine Tree Manor over the years. To respect her wishes, Norma will be cremated and interred in the Field of Honour at the Highwood Cemetery at a later date when all her family is able to gather together to say good-bye. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the High River Branch #71, Royal Canadian Legion or the High River United Church Choir.
