Jacqueline Joy “Jackie” Johnson, age 89, passed away January 28, 2021 in Council Bluffs. Jackie was born on February 17, 1931 in Council Bluffs to the late Arthur N. and Florence G. (Gilchrist) Enewold. She was united in marriage to Henry G. Johnson, Jr on June 7, 1953 and to this union daughter, Sheryl Kay was born. Jackie taught at Rue School for over 19 years, retiring in 1975. She was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church. Jackie’s hobbies included following Creighton Basketball. She was a longtime supporter of Creighton University and St. Albert Schools. The Sheryl K. Johnson Child Care Center at St. Albert was named after her late daughter. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by daughter, Sheryl Kay; husband, Henry; brother, Gordon Enewold. Jackie is survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Cleaveland, Oakland, IA and Bonnie Kearnes, Surprise, AZ; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Memorials to the Sheryl K.
