Robert Dwayne “Bodene” Gilbert, age 61, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Monday, January 25, 2021, in Hot Springs AR. He was born December 28, 1959, in Dierks, Arkansas. Mr. Gilbert was a mechanic and worked for Weyerhaeuser. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family. He was a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wendell and Marie Louise Eudy Gilbert; two brothers, Lee Von Gilbert and Rev. J.W. Gilbert. He is survived by his wife, Connie Parker Gilbert; four daughters, Mandy Gilbert of Murfreesboro, AR, Sarah Gilbert of Hot Springs, Ashley Schulz of Wisconsin and Stacey Piggee of Dierks; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great grandchild on the way; three brothers, Larry Gilbert and Richard Gilbert of Lockesburg and Ronnie Gilbert of Dierks; one sister, Mary “Missy” Shepherd of Dierks and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Donnie Davis and Ray Piggee officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunshine Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, Dierks. General viewing for Mr. Gilbert will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the funeral home chapel in Dierks.
