It was with heavy sadness that we announce James H. Wehausen, 67, Algoma, has passed on to his eternal rest after a courageous battle with cancer on March 29, 2017. He proudly served his country in the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. On September 10, 1977 he was united in marriage to Linda Gabriel. They would celebrate 40 years in September. Throughout his life Jim was an avid hunter, spending peaceful time in his deer stand. He enjoyed years of fox hunting with the crew, as well as fishing local lakes. Jim had a love for baseball, spending many years on the ball field playing in a league and tournaments and inspiring the love of the ball to others by coaching Little League, Baby Ruth and Legion Ball. Jim worked in the sign industry until his retirement in 2015. He loved firing up the smoker, mixing his famous old fashions and spending precious time with his beloved family. Jim is survived by his wife, Linda, daughter Nichole (Ken) Buresh, and their children Ethan, Emerson and Josie; son Matthew (Elizabeth) Wehausen and their children Austyn and Rylan; his mother Loretta Wehausen, siblings Ron (Elaine) Wehausen, Mary (Dale) Dumman, Cheryl (Tony) Bouche, Lori (Jim) Marin, Robert (Roxanne) Wehausen and Brian (Bonnie) Wehausen; in-laws Mary Wery, Dick (Ann) Gabriel and Greg (Terrie) Gabriel; many loved nieces, nephews and their families.
