Nancy Grandinetti

Nancy Grandinetti, 66, of Center Township, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021, surrounded by her family in Good Samaritan Hospice after a lengthy battle with heart disease. Born February 14, 1954, in Beaver Falls to the late Anthony and Grace (DePaul) Mendicino, Nancy was the love of our lives. She was a 1972 graduate of Beaver Falls High School, and a graduate of the Beaver Falls Beauty Academy. Nancy owned and operated her beauty salon out of her home for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of St. Frances Cabrini in Center, where she served as a eucharistic minister for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Frank and Thomasina Grandinetti, her grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, with whom she is now reunited. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph, her son and daugher-in-law, Marc and Courtney Grandinetti, her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Tim Gaertner, and her grandchildren, Santino and Matteo, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, brother Anthony (Dominique) Mendicino, sisters Barb (Bill) Addy and Joanne (Scott) Hughes, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Valerie and Mark Marsilio, nieces Maura (Richie), Sarah, and Anna Marie, nephews Scott, Anthony and Nicholas, a great-nephew, Micah, and her aunt, Louise Kalcevic. She is also survived by many cousins and special friends. At the center of Nancy’s life was her family. Nancy took great pride in her children and grandchildren, and they will carry on her legacy. She delighted in being around them, especially hosting Sunday dinners and many holidays, of which her favorite was Christmas Eve. She was a master in the kitchen, preparing delicious Italian meals, making homemade pasta and sausage with her husband, along with her incredible ciambelle, biscotti, and pizzelle. She enjoyed traveling, and loved taking vacations with her family to Ocean City, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, and Italy. Nancy touched many lives throughout her life. She bravely and courageously battled numerous health issues over the years, always with a positive outlook. She defeated cancer twice. She was a warrior and fighter who never gave up, and will be missed immensely. The family would like to thank her doctors, especially Dr. Alpert, Dr. Benza, and Dr. Slemenda, nurses Kimberly, Cheryl, and Kaela, all who never stopped providing compassionate care to Nancy. We will always love you and miss you, Mom, but take comfort in knowing we will be with you again one day.
