Vera L. Yoder, 82, of Mazie, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Tulsa. Vera was born on April 23, 1938 in Inola, Oklahoma to Joe and Fannie (Troyer) Stutzman. She attended school at Pleasant View for 6 years, then attended Inola Public Schools to the 8th grade. Vera married David Jay Yoder on November 28, 1957 in Inola, they were married 51 years. They enjoyed their life together raising nine children. They loved being with their many, many friends, neighbors and precious family members as often as they possibly could. As a couple they relished every moment with joy and adoration, making memories with everyone. Vera loved to cook meals of all kinds; she was known for her famous custard pie. She found great joy in working with her flowers, bird watching and singing her favorite songs. Vera was generous, always finding ways to serve others, she was known for her sweet spirit, love of Jesus and all her family and friends. She loved and was faithful to her Amish Community all her life. Vera is survived by her eight children, Linda Burkholder and husband Eli of Claremore, Jerry Yoder and wife Tonya of Chouteau, Calvin Yoder of Mazie, James Yoder and wife Paula of Billings, Oklahoma, Rosella Yoder of Mazie, Joe Yoder and wife Tammy of Chouteau, John Yoder of Chouteau, Andrew Yoder of Mazie, daughter in-law, Delilah Yoder of Arthur, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Jay Yoder, a son, Roger L. Yoder, her siblings, Henry Stutzman, Enos Stutzman, Harry Stutzman, Lorene Yoder, Edna Miller, Barbara Yoder, Wilma Yoder, Edith Yoder, Jay Stutzman and Dorothy Stutzman. The family of Vera Yoder would like to express our gratitude to everyone, for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the farm of Marvin and Dina Miller, 5816 W 620 Rd, Chouteau. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 starting at 9 a.m. at the farm of Eli Detweiler’s, 8126 W 576 Rd (428 Rd), Inola, Oklahoma 74036.
