<p>John Warden Stanford, 72 of Mexia, passed away on January 23, 2021 at the Skilled Care in Mexia.&nbsp; Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. &nbsp;at Jones Funeral Services Chapel. &nbsp;Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.&nbsp; Interment will follow at Ft. Parker Cemetery.&nbsp;</p> <p>Mr. Stanford was born on May 9, 1948 in Oskaloosa, Kansas to Jack &amp; Ruth Stanford.&nbsp; He moved to Texas around 1958. He was a 1967 graduate of Groesbeck High School and graduated from TSTI in Waco in ag science.&nbsp; He enlisted in the army in 1968 and graduated basic training in January of 1969.</p> <p>Survivors include his son, Shad Stanford and wife, Lindsey of Jewett; daughter, RaeLynne Bell and husband, Josh of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Zackary and Blayke Russ, Hadley Bell and Shelby and Lucy Stanford; brothers, Robert Stanford and wife, Rona of Ft. Worth and David Stanford of Mexia; nephew, Brian Stanford and niece, Brandy Buccolo.&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

John Warden Stanford, 72 of Mexia, passed away on January 23, 2021 at the Skilled Care in Mexia.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  at Jones Funeral Services Chapel.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Ft. Parker Cemetery. 

Mr. Stanford was born on May 9, 1948 in Oskaloosa, Kansas to Jack & Ruth Stanford.  He moved to Texas around 1958. He was a 1967 graduate of Groesbeck High School and graduated from TSTI in Waco in ag science.  He enlisted in the army in 1968 and graduated basic training in January of 1969.

Survivors include his son, Shad Stanford and wife, Lindsey of Jewett; daughter, RaeLynne Bell and husband, Josh of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Zackary and Blayke Russ, Hadley Bell and Shelby and Lucy Stanford; brothers, Robert Stanford and wife, Rona of Ft. Worth and David Stanford of Mexia; nephew, Brian Stanford and niece, Brandy Buccolo.
