The Life and Legacy of Charles Eugene Rogers
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Corinthians 5:1
Charles Eugene Rogers, 85, peacefully moved to a higher residence on January 21, 2021. Behold on March 4, 1935, a baby boy “Charles Eugene Rogers”, was born in Logansport, Louisiana to late Foster and Bessie Mae Rogers. He spent his childhood and school age years in Logansport, Louisiana. He soon met and married the late Clover Mae Anderson, the love of his life, and to this union 5 children were born. After the passing of his wife in 1964, Charles relocated his family to Houston, Texas where he worked and retired as an Over the Road Truck Driver for Airtex Steel Company. Many years later, Charles met his beloved girlfriend Georgia Taylor and placed his church membership at Blueridge United Methodist Church. He loved to spend time with his family and friends at events and gatherings. You could often find him full of joy and laughter while flashing an infectious smile that would warm your heart. He embodied great love for life, family, and friends. When his health began to decline, Deloris (daughter) and Benjamin (son-in-law) opened their doors to care for him until he was called to his “eternal home”. His grand-daughter Cherylmaine Bennett also assisted with providing excellent care and a constant compassion for his daily needs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Foster Rogers, and Bessie Rogers; son, Charles Earl Rogers; two sisters, Archa Mae Rogers, Leeoff Punch; four brothers, Clarence, Charles Edward, Cornell and Foster, Jr., and brother-in-law, Lonnie Punch.
