Stephen Edward Milenski

Stephen Edward Milenski, 74 of Las Animas, entered into heavenly rest with his savior on January 20, 2021 in the comfort of his home. Steve was born April 3, 1946 in La Junta to Victor and Margaret (Stephenson) Milenski of Rocky Ford. Throughout his life he was a cowboy, a heavy equipment operator, truck owner operator, an excellent horseman, a proud American, and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, but above all else he was a devout follower of Jesus Christ. Steve graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1964. In 1965 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1967. In 1967 he and Adda Ann Hayes of Fowler were married and had three children Jehan, Brandon, and Thane. In 1986 he married Sandra Dee Walter of Thatcher, CO together they welcomed a daughter Kaley in 1987. Steve and Sandy remained completely in love and best friends until his last day. Steve is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter, Jehan Milenski of Tuscon, AZ; son Brandon Milenski of Rocky Ford, CO; son, Thane (Renee) Milenski of McClave, CO; daughter Kaley (Faron) Edens of Boone, CO; sister, Ann (Garry) Thimgan of Mauldin, SC; brother, Jim Milenski of Rocky Ford, CO; sister, Nancy (Ron) Thomas of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, John Milenski of Swink, CO; sister, Mary (Micheal) Williams of Castle Rock, CO; brother, Ward (Cyndi) Milenski of Jackson, TN; special friend, Shelly Simmons of La Junta, CO; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Margaret Milenski. A graveside committal will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO with Father Henry Wertin officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Rocky Ford Chapter of FFA 100 W. Washington Ave. Rocky Ford, CO 81067. Online condolences may be made at www.PeacockFH.com.
