<p style="text-align: justify;">Matthew Vernon Joye, Sr., 63, died Thursday, January 21, 2021, at MUSC Health of Florence.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Joye was born on December 10, 1957 in Williamsburg County, son of the late Richard Laranza Joye and Kathleen Prosser Joye. He retired from Plowden Motors after 25 years as an Automotive Mechanic. Mr. Joye was a hardworking and loving husband, daddy and granddaddy who enjoyed playing video games.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Surviving are his wife, Alice Faye Joye of Pamplico; daughter, April (Tony) Cannon of Pamplico; sons, Matthew V. Joye, Jr. and Steven Austin Joye, both of Pamplico; grandchildren, Hope Cannon and Dayton Cannon, both of Pamplico; brother, William Joye of Johnsonville, Teddy Ard of North Carolina and Valeer Litchfield of Moncks Corner; sister, Linda Moore of Conway; and family pet, Bella.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Joye was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hallie Cannon; and a number of brothers and sisters.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Memorial services will be at a later date.</p>

Matthew Vernon Joye, Sr., 63, died Thursday, January 21, 2021, at MUSC Health of Florence.

Mr. Joye was born on December 10, 1957 in Williamsburg County, son of the late Richard Laranza Joye and Kathleen Prosser Joye. He retired from Plowden Motors after 25 years as an Automotive Mechanic. Mr. Joye was a hardworking and loving husband, daddy and granddaddy who enjoyed playing video games.
