Virginia Ann Golimbieski

Virginia A. Golimbieski Sterling, Michigan Virginia Ann Golimbieski passed away peacefully, going home to be with the Lord, on January 21, 2021. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Gerald (on Sept. 18th, 2009), her parents Joseph and Lillian Sherman and a brother, Thaddius (Ted). Her surviving siblings are JoAnne, Nancy, Diane, and Robert. Virginia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great - great grandmother. Her walk with the Lord was an example to all. Her warm smile and inviting eyes welcomed friends, family and neighbors with a loving heart. Virginia’s giving spirit will certainly be missed. Virginia was born, on February 20, 1937 to the late Joseph and Lillian (Cheminski) Sherman. Virginia married Gerald John Golimbieski on August 27, 1955. They raised 6 children on the family dairy farm in Standish, Michigan. Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ann Tremble - Sterling, Grace (Tim) Marshall - Saginaw, Jane (Greg) Illig - West Branch, Mary (Steve) Broker - Murfreesboro, TN, Joe (Brenda) Golimbieski - Standish, Paul Golimbieski- Sterling. She also leaves 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 1 great - great grandchild. Virginia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and being involved in many of their activities. She also had a passion for being a Lector at Resurrection Church, her flower gardens, and volunteering. Farm Bureau was an integral part of Virginia’s volunteer work. Through her work with the Promotion and Education program, she wanted people to understand the farming industry and how it impacts the world. As well as being a farmer’s wife, Virginia also retired from 20 years of service at Standish Products. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Her Life has been planned for Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL, Standish, Michigan. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ascension Skilled Nursing Staff and Compassus Hospice Care.
