LaVern A. "Fuzzy" Warmington Obituary

LaVern A. “Fuzzy” Warmington, age 86, of Faribault, died on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Funeral services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Henry L. Doyle officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault, with veteran’s military rites provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. The memorial service may be viewed below. Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service on Sunday. LaVern was born in Faribault on October 15, 1934, to Harry and Hilda (Glende) Warmington. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1953. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served in Korea for three years. He was very proud of being a Marine and of his service to our country. Later, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves until he received an honorable discharge in 1962; after his return from the military, he was employed by Warmington Garage, Faribault, working alongside his father, Harry and brother, Dean. After Harry retired, he continued his family business with his brother, Dean. For a short time, he relocated to Montana for construction employment. When he returned to Faribault, he finished his career at Heselton Construction, Faribault, retiring in 1999. Fuzzy enjoyed retirement playing cribbage and euchre; coffee with the guys; putting together puzzles; visiting residents at the many local care centers; most of all he enjoyed the company and companionship of his best friend, Cycil a.k.a. “Diesel” his dog. Survivors include his brothers, William (and Jan Yetzer) Warmington of Faribault and Gary Warmington of Mankato; many nephews and nieces. In the last years of his life, when health issues arose, with the help and care of Mark, Debi, Jonah, Mallory Warmington, Christy, Ron Spicer, Corey, Tonia, Jackson Warmington and Dana Hanson, Fuzzy was able to remain in his home until he needed full time care. LaVern was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carolyn Litsheim, Dean Warmington and Sherry Forcelle.
