Marvin R. Painter, 79, of Monroe City, MO passed away at 12:08 PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home. A private funeral service will be held at the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City. Deacon Mike Long will officiate. Friends and Family are invited to Marvin's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Wednesday, Jan 27,2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. Arrangements for cremation will follow Marvin's Life Celebration. The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. If you plan on attending the visitation, please wear a face covering. Marvin was born October 24, 1941, in Hannibal, MO to Harold Bell Painter and Helen Grace Robnett. He was raised by his mother and stepfather Woodrow Hilbert. He was previously married to Constance Louise Smith. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Julie Ann Painter of Hannibal, MO, son William "Robbie" Robnett Painter (Ida "Penny" Jeanette) of Stoutsville, MO, 1 brother Donald Gene Painter (Jackie) of Gainsville, GA, 3 grandchildren, William Thomas Painter (Mandy), Alicia Michelle Painter-Smith (Andrew), Malissie Grace Gwinner-Hellige (Dennis), 5 great-grandchildren, Macy Painter, Josiah Painter, Jordyn Painter, Olivia Hellige, Kaylee Hellige, Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather. Professionally, Marvin was a farmer most of his life and drove trucks for Hassard Elevator Co. Marvin enjoyed finding antiques either at a flea market or going to an auction, looking for antiques to sell. He liked hunting coon, quail, turkey and going fishing. Most of all he loved watching grandkids and great grandkids activities and spending time with family. Marvin was a Christian by Faith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe City Lions Club or Monroe County Cancer Supporters. Pallbearers will be William Painter, Andrew Smith, Dennis Hellige, Ben Hathaway, Jim Shortridge, and Mike Minor Online condolences may be shared, and video tribute may be viewed at www.ODonnellLifeCelebration.com.
