Wayne Alfred Cook Sr. Obituary

Wayne “Cookie” Cook, Sr 82, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2021, among family. He was born on March 28, 1938 in Marvel, Alabama. Wayne was a resident of Pascagoula for 79 years. He was married to Betty Lou Seely Cook for 62 years and together they had two children Natalie Cook Martin and Wayne A. Cook Jr. 
 
Wayne served in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He also founded Southern Industrial Contractors and Worldwide Labor Support Inc.  Mr. Cook also served as President of the Mississippi BassMasters Assoc.1975, and was a member of Elks “BPOE” for 56 years and the American Legion for 23 years.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Church on the Rock of Pascagoula. 
 
Wayne’s life was fueled by a passion for travel with his wife and many friends. Whether it was driving his RV across America or traveling overseas, nothing stood in the way of the many places or sites they wanted to see. 
 
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou (Seely) Cook, parents Bartie and Annie Cook, sisters Jacqueline “Jackie” Cook Walker, Dorothy “Dot” Cook Tansil, and brother Bobby Joe Cook. 
 
Wayne was survived by his daughter Natalie Cook Martin (Jim) of Tampa, FL, and Wayne “Dump” A. Cook (Di’Ane). His grandchildren Ashlee Martin, James Hunter Martin (Darlene), Alex Cook, Meagan Cook, Ashton Weatherford, and Avery Weatherford; great grandchildren Renee 
Martin, Owen Martin, Zachary Scott, and Landon Scott.  
 
Due to the concerns of Covid19, the family wishes to have a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Hospice of Life or The American Heart Association.
