Joseph "Rich" Ruff, 67 of Connellsville died Wednesday December 16, 2020 at his home. He was born March 28, 1953 in Indian Head a son of the late Sanford and Mary Jane Stout Ruff. Rich was a Retired Conductor for the B&O and later CSX Railroad and also for Amtrak. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany and served in the Military Police. He was a member of the first Army Rifle Team and won numerous awards for his marksmanship. He was a member of the Polish Club, Eagles Club and the Fairview Aid Society in Connellsville and was a member of the Donegal VFW. He was also a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Connie M. Smalley Ruff; two daughters, Shirley Ross and her husband Terry of Connellsville and Jenny LoBianco and her husband James of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren, Katie Buzzard and her husband Joshua, Emily LoBianco, Sarah Lewis and her husband Stone and Gage Ross; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Edward Stout, Sanford Ruff and James Ruff, all of Connellsville; six sisters, Ellen Basinger, Emma ( Larry) Brothers, Audrey Jean Friguglietti, Bonnie ( Harry) Heisterman, Vida ( Larry) Nicholson, all of Connellsville and Dorothy ( Ronald) Geehring of North Carolina as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Basinger in 2013. As per Rich's wishes there will be no pubic viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service that will be held in the Bryner Ridge Cemetery, 491 Middle Ridge Road, Ohiopyle, Pa. 15470 on May 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M..
