Julius ROBERT Neither

Julius Robert Neither, Jr. was born on March 7, 1944, in Chicago, IL to Julius R. Neither, Sr. and Marion C. Leak. He grew up on the South Side of Chicago where he attended and graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic School.<br><br>Julius married Diane Simpkins in 1963, and to the union, two children were born: Demetria Neither and Lynette Neither. In 1968, he married Evelyn Frances Clayborn and to the union, two children were born to that union: Debra Webster and Erik Neither. In 1987, Julius then married Patricia McLemore and to the union, three children were born: Edward Zachery, Julius R. Neither, III., and Alexandria Neither.<br><br>Julius was a hard-working individual with an entrepreneurial spirit. He definitely did not believe in a handout. He owned a successful construction company and a night club in East St. Louis, IL. He worked in some other professions as well. Additionally, he had a love for computers. <br><br>He attended Lone Star College and studied Transportation and Global Logistics Technology. Later in his life, he took to the open road as a successful long haul truck driver and became a certified trainer for Swift Transportation for many years. He traveled the road for more than 35 years. He was driving home from delivering a load in Flagstaff, AZ., when he collapsed and transitioned this life to be with the Lord.<br><br>He was an avid conversationalist, never short for words or people to converse with daily. He enjoyed watching television especially Football, Westerns, and his favorite movies like Shaft with Samuel L. Jackson. He enjoyed spending time with family and just sitting outside smoking his beloved, "Pall Mall" cigarettes. He liked motorcycles and fast cars. For the past 40 years, he bought lottery tickets, and was waiting for his chance to hit it big. He dreamed of what he would do if he won it all. He often said, “If you’re not in it, you can’t win it!” He enjoyed so much of the music from his era. Throughout his life he was often told that he resembled David Ruffin from the Motown hit group “The Temptations.” He was a true friend to many of the individuals that he trained while driving on the road. They kept in touch and many spoke with him daily like his best friends and trainees, Mr. Stephen Porter and Terrance Morris.<br><br>Julius R. Neither, Jr., died on January 16, 2021 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He spent the last 10 months of his life in Las Vegas, NV., under the love and care of his daughter Debra Webster. Julius was preceded in death by both of his parents, two sisters: Diane Webb and Rhonda Neither-Mitchell, all from Chicago, IL., his second wife, Evelyn Neither, from Woodbridge, VA and a grandchild, DeMaun Neither (deceased).<br><br>He leaves to cherish his memories several children to mourn his passing: Demetria Neither, Lynette Neither-Smith, Debra Webster, Erik Neither Sr., Edward (Tomica) Zachary, Julius Neither, III., Alexandria Neither, Patrice Bhatti, Carl Clayborn, Lori Stevenson, Sonya (John) Majors. Siblings: Richard (Phyllis) Neither, Marion (Charles) Norman, Norma Jean (Davis) Byars, Linda Neither-Walker, Lameatria (Stephen) Neither-Kennedy, Gwendolyn (Cornell) Brooks, Stacey (Keith) Neither, and Shealer (Tony) Berwer (deceased); and 11 grandchildren: LaShea Smith, Andrew Smith, Kayla Bonner, Karissa Webster, Nathaniel Webster, Christian Neither, Erik C. Neither, Jr., Ricky Blaze III, Shanaiya Blaze, Teyana Blaze; four great grandchildren: Nyellie Bonner, Jayden Neither, Kingston Neither, Autumn Neither; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.<br> <br>Julius R. Neither, Jr., you will be forever in our memories for the love that you had for your family and friends. Julius Robert Neither, Jr. was born on March 7, 1944, in Chicago, IL to Julius R. Neither, Sr. and Marion C. Leak. He grew up on the South Side of Chicago where he attended and graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic School.
