Oracio Arnoldo "Arnold" Garza Obituary

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Oracio Arnoldo “Arnold” Garza entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 20th of January 2021 in Brownsville, Texas. He was seventy-six years of age.

 

Arnold was born in Brownsville, Texas to his parents, Jesus Garza and Josefina Rivera Garza on October 28, 1944. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Arnold later went on to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, later merging with AT&T, for over 29 years until his retirement. He will be greatly missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known him.

 

Preceding Arnold in death are his parents, Jesus and Josefina Rivera Garza, and his siblings, Luis Garza, Cesar Garza (Margarita +), and Irma Benavides (Joe +).

 

Arnold is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Soledad Cole Garza; their children Gino Garza, Jennifer Valdez (David), Leslie Saaverda, and Lori Garza; grandchildren Jacob Garza, Christian Valdez, Cassandra Valdez, Joshua Saaverda, Matthew Saaverda, and Madison Saaverda; his sister, Minvera G. Perez (Alejandro); his brother-in-law, Jose L. Cole, and sister-in-law, Rosie Rabius; and by his precious Chihuahua’s (Tinkerbelle +), Tinker, and Bella.

 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, the 24th of January 2021 between the hours of three o’clock and six o'clock in the evening, with a Chapel Service to begin at six o’clock Sunday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. We ask that you please adhere to all of the current social distancing guidelines and restrictions in place.

 

Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday, the 27th of January 2021 at twelve noon, with a prayer service to begin at half past two o’clock Wednesday afternoon at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Interment will follow via escorted procession to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas 78526 at half past three o’clock where military honors will be conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post 43.

 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gino R. Garza, David Valdez, Christian Valdez, Kenneth Wigley, Matthew Saaverda, and Joshua Saaverda.
