GERALDINE DOROTHY DIEHL

Geraldine Dorothy Diehl, born on May 2, 1944, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, of Yonkers, NY, passed away on January 20, 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Laureen Rego (Yonkers, NY), step daughter, Valerie Rego (Los Angeles, CA), her partner, Warren Farnes and their daughter, Simone Rego-Farnes and step son, Lawrence Rego (Las Vegas, NV). Geri also leaves a close family of nieces and nephews and sisters in law. Geri was especially close to her niece Rhonda Haro, Her husband Ronald and their children Julien, Lucas and Alyssa. Geri and Rhonda shared a special bond and she loved her like a daughter. Geri had so many friends, many of whom became her extended family. She would never let anyone be alone for a holiday and would always answer a call from a friend in need in the middle of the night. Geri was a vibrant, larger than life lady who loved to dance, travel, sing, paint, draw and laugh. Famous for her many jokes that she could recite on demand. She was the person in the room everyone was drawn to and loved making people laugh more than anything. Geri was dancing and singing for as long as her body would let her. This is a profound loss to everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Visitation at DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO Funeral Home on Sunday, January 24, 2021, from 1-3PM and 6-8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday , January 25, 20211, at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 10:30AM. Interment is Private.
