Vernon Mock, 69, Lincoln, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Church of Ascension, Bismarck with Msg. James Braaten officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM, Friday, January 22, 2021with a Vigil/Rosary service at 7:00 PM, at DaWise-Perry / Mandan Crematory, 4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan. Visitation continues from 9-10:00 AM, Saturday, at DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Vernon was born June 26, 1951 at Harvey, North Dakota, to Henry Jr. and Katherine (Hust) Mock. He was raised and educated in Balfour, North Dakota, graduated from Balfour High School. He married Sue Bauer on August 21, 1973, in Harvey. He worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator, starting at age 16. He worked for North American Coal Corporation for 20 years, with jobs including Land Reclamation, Blasting Tech, and in Coal handling. After retirement he developed his dream business of Vern’s Landscape. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Camping with his family and friends. Vern inspired his family and his friends to love and enjoy the outdoors. He loved to share his knowledge and experiences with everyone. Vern always had a story to tell and a smile to greet you with!! He is survived by his Wife, Sue; five Children, Corey, Melanie (Ryan) Mock Pederson, Christopher, (Dawn), Jonathan (Lori), and Kayla (Zach) Knight; six Grandchildren, Eckoe Moore, Chris Jr., Dominic, Evan, Matthew, and Ashley; sister, Dorothy Moser; numerous nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delmar Mock; two sisters, Mabel Adams, and Florence Lauer. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
